Tasks and cleaning
Whenever Kasify imports a booking, a cleaning task is automatically created and linked to it. This page explains how those tasks are assigned and how to change the assignee when needed.
How cleaning tasks are generated
- When a booking is imported from a channel (Airbnb, Booking, VRBO, etc.), Kasify generates the matching cleaning task.
- The task is tied to the booking's checkout.
- Only cleaning tasks are generated automatically. Other task types (maintenance, etc.) are created manually when needed.
Property default cleaner
Each property can have a default cleaner: the team member that new cleaning tasks for that property are automatically assigned to.
To configure it:
- Open Properties, select the property, and click Settings.
- Find the Cleaning Settings section.
- In Default Cleaner, pick a member of the property's team.
- Save your changes.
From that point on, every new booking imported for this property generates a cleaning task pre-assigned to that person.
The default cleaner must be a member of the property's team. If the person isn't on the team yet, invite them first — see Invite and manage the team.
Every property always has a default cleaner: if you haven't added anyone to the team yet (Staff or Contractor), tasks are assigned to the property's owner. As soon as you add other team members, you can reassign it from the Cleaning Settings section.
Change the cleaner for a specific booking
The default cleaner is applied when the task is created, but you can always reassign it for a specific booking without touching the property's global setting:
- Open the booking from the bookings list or the calendar.
- In the booking detail, find the associated cleaning task.
- Change the assignee by picking another team member.
The change only affects that booking. The property's default cleaner stays in place for future bookings.
Who sees cleaning tasks
Task visibility depends on each person's role on the property:
- Owner and Manager: see every task for the property and can reassign them.
- Staff: only see the tasks assigned to them, not those of other team members. They can also see every booking on the property (without guest personal data), which lets them check the calendar and self-organize.
- Contractor: only sees tasks explicitly assigned to them, with minimum booking context (dates, guest count, instructions).
